Aloha and welcome to my Maui page. Maui is a very special place for me. I have always enjoyed visiting Hawaii with my first trip being the Summer of 1971. Since then I have visited Hawaii more than 50 times most of which was spent on Maui. The people and easy-going lifestyle of Maui is what I appreciate the most. Of course the weather is awesome, the beaches are the best and the restaurants abound with gastronomical delights.

I have been to Maui many times throughout the year. The Summer is very busy and warm so if you go during this time is is best to make reservations in advance for everything from luaus to restaurants, shows to spa services and many activities. All of the resorts have a concierge available to help you.

My favorite time to go is during the first two weeks of December (for my Birthday). Maui is usually so slow and the airfare and hotel rates are the best. It is also a good time to catch up with many of my friends on the island. Maui does a wonderful job with it's holiday spirit. One of my annual traditions is to take a photo at the Santa Canoe at the entrance to Ka'anapali Beach.

Maui has such a wide variety of things to do. The weather is so nice and ocean so warm. On one of my trips to Maui I was certified for scuba diving. I met a very friendly, patient and competent diving instructor named Mark with Water Fantasy Diving. Inclusive with the Home Study package, Mark took us on 4 open water dives with the last one going into a natural cave. It was just amazing to see all of the sea life and natural beauty of the reefs in Maui.

On another trip to Maui, I decided to try surfing. Wow! What an exhilarating experience. The ocean and waves can be a little intimidating so I decided to take surfing lessons in Lahaina. According to Channel 7, the visitors guide, There are some friendly schools in Lahaina just perfect for beginners. I signed up with the Royal Hawaian Surf Acadamy through Boss Frog's activities desk. In the Maui Gold book I found coupons for $40 for group lessons. It was a great experience and they actually had me surfing with in the first hour of class. Went back again 2 days later and took a private class with Kenny. Look out Northshore... There is a new champion on the horrizon...

Maui no ka oi - "Maui is the best"  You will hear this often and most will feel it by the end of their trip.

The following pages will help guide you to my favorites as well as other helpful hints.
